The challenge
Summit had grown into three carrier relationships and a homegrown Google Sheet to keep track of in-transit freight. Tracking exceptions were caught after the fact. Invoices arrived in three different formats and had to be manually reconciled against the sheet.
What they did
They migrated to FreightCake, integrated their three carriers, and let the platform centralize tracking events + invoices. Webhooks pushed in-transit exceptions into Slack so the ops team could intervene the same day.
The result
Three tools became one. Invoice reconciliation went from a half-day weekly chore to an hour. Same-day exception response (vs. next-week fire drills) became their new normal.
